This exhibit highlights human-bat cultural connections through science, culture, folklore, mythology, pop culture — and features live bats! Bats are the only mammal capable of true, sustained flight. Bats symbolize both good and evil. Today, bats are looked at as indicator species for the health of the environment and continue to fascinate people around the world.
