Three Contemporary Exhibits
October 1 - October 31
The Kimball Art Center presents three exhibitions exploring contemporary views of our urban and natural landscapes.
David Hartt: On Exactitude in Science (Watts)
David Hartt creates work that unpacks the social, cultural and economic complexities of his various subjects. He explores how historic ideas and ideals persist or transform over time.
Paintings by Claire Sherman
Claire Sherman’s current works represent the natural world in a manner that makes her landscapes both recognizable and utterly imaginative, inviting yet daunting.
In Memoriam: Carbon Paintings by Cara Despain
Cara Despain’s work uses burnt debris from wildfires as drawing tools to create large-scale ‘paintings’ of pure carbon that are to serve as markers of a changing climate and exist in memoriam of the consequences of human habitation on the planet.
