Park City Museum Lectures: Henry Shields – Early Pioneer of Park City
April 17 | 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Henry Shields was born in Belfast in 1842 and moved to Park City in 1879. Henry was a sheriff, a probate judge, an elected Park City attorney, a Summit County attorney and had private practice on Main Street that burned down in the great fire of 1898. He was arrested and charged with murder, helped prosecute murders and assisted in defending murderers. He also helped bring electricity to City Hall and Main Street. Judge Shields may be the most influential Parkite you have never heard about yet. Lecture given by Matt Melville.
