Midway Ice Castles

The Ice Castles are the work and brainchild of ice artist Brent Christensen, who started with a backyard castle in Alpine followed by an ice castle in downtown Midway in 2009. Over the years, the Ice Castles have been in a variety of Midway locations and this year they are at Homestead Resort. Artisans spend 4,000 hours dripping and shaping icicles to create life-size fairytale playgrounds featuring ice-carved tunnels, fountains, slides, frozen thrones and towers that reach astonishing heights.
